Before I fire your work, I will need to know what type of clay you’ve used, as well as the glaze temperature labelled on your glazes.  This ensures I don’t accidentally overfire or under-fire your work and allows for optimal results.  I also request that you mark your own work with your name or initials so that it doesn’t get mixed up with the many other pots fired regularly here. *please note that although I regularly fire to cone 04 as well as cone 10, I will also offer special cone 5/6 firings if you have enough work to justify and fill my smaller kiln which is approximately 50mm cubed.

I have 3 gas kilns, small, medium and large, and can accommodate most all shapes and sizes up to 1M in height.  I treat your work as if it were mine, in carefully firing slowly for thicker pieces (with deeply embedded water molecules), ensuring explosions do not occur during the first stages of a “Bisque” fire.  I can fire to all temperature ranges, up to 1300 C in reduction atmospheres.

Pricing

$12 per Kg in weight, per firing.  This covers my gas expenses as well as my time as I attend to each firing of up to 12 hours or sometimes longer.

$12 per Kg if you are using my glazes on your work.  An invoice will be emailed to you with the total weight of your work and final amount due upon picking up your finish- fired pots.  I will also provide a detailed itemised version if you request this.
