Before I fire your work, I'll need to know the type of clay you've used and the glaze temperature marked on your glazes. This ensures your work isn't accidentally over- or under-fired, and that you get the best possible results. Please also mark your own pieces with your name or initials, so they don't get mixed up with the many other pots fired here regularly.

Please note: while I regularly fire to cone 04 and cone 10, I also offer special cone 5/6 firings if you have enough work to justify filling my smaller kiln (50cm cubed).

I have two gas kilns — 60x60x60cm and 50x50x50cm — and can accommodate most shapes and sizes within those dimensions. I treat your work as carefully as my own, firing slowly for thicker pieces with deeply embedded moisture, to make sure no explosions occur during the early stages of a bisque fire. I can fire to all temperature ranges, up to 1300°C, in reduction atmospheres.

Pricing

$12 per kg, per firing. This covers gas expenses and my time, as I attend to each firing for up to 12 hours or longer.

$12 per kg if you're using my glazes on your work. An invoice will be emailed to you with the total weight of your work and the final amount due upon pickup of your finished, fired pots. I can also provide a detailed itemised version on request.
