Ben Ruble BIO

Meet Ben Ruble

Ben Ruble is a ceramic artist and the founder of Wild Nature Clay, working from his off-grid studio in the hinterland of Upper Main Arm, NSW. He harvests and processes clay directly from the property, crafting handmade ceramic sink basins and dinnerware that carry genuine Australian provenance. His work sits at the intersection of fine craft and functional design, sought out by architects, interior designers, and builders who value sustainability and the irreplaceable character of handmade objects.

His studio is as much a philosophy as it is a workspace — rooted in place, shaped by the land, and committed to making things that last.

When he's not at the wheel, firing the kiln, or running Raku Workshops, Ben enjoys time with his family, taking walks in the forest, or simply relaxing at home.

Workshop

Ben also offers workshops like primitive pit firing, and Raku-fired ceramics, with a community vibe and discounts for families.

Dive into the ancient art of Raku pottery and watch as your imagination dances with flames! Join us for an exhilarating Raku Fire Pottery Workshop, where fiery passions meet artistic finesse.

Or join us for a familly pit-fire weekend and unleash your creativity on handbuilding with clay and learn to fire pots in a primitive kiln using natural decorative materials including oxides, cow pats, seaweed, and wood!

Kiln Hire

I offer my kiln hire service to individuals who have made their clay creations from home or elsewhere, and need an experienced kiln technician to fire it for them.

With 2 gas kilns, I can accomodate most shapes and sizes up to 1M in height. I treat your work as if it were mine, in carefully firing slowly for thicker pieces (with deeply embedded water molecules), ensuring explosions do not occur during the first stages of a “Bisque” fire.

I can fire to all temperatures in oxidation or reduction, up to 1300
